There are not enough spaces where Black women can simply soften.
A Soft Place is a spring garden gathering created for Black women to slow down, be nurtured, and enjoy the beauty of community. This afternoon tea party is an invitation to step away from the pace of everyday life and spend a few hours in a space designed for rest, reflection, and joyful connection.
Set in a charming tea garden in Alameda, we will gather around a shared table for a family-style meal, thoughtful conversation, and gentle activities that encourage creativity and self-care.
This is a space to laugh, share stories, meet new women, and remember the beauty of collective care.
A Garden Tea Party Experience
We will begin the afternoon gathered around a communal table, sharing hors d’oeuvres and conversation with the women seated around us. Conversation cards will guide meaningful dialogue and help us ease into connection.
After our shared meal, the garden will open for exploration, creativity, and community.
